These terms govern your use of Shortt Events. By creating an account, making a booking or listing a business, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.

About the marketplace

Shortt Events is a marketplace that connects people planning events with independent suppliers. We are not the supplier — the contract for services is between you and the supplier you book.

Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be 18 or over to book.

Bookings & deposits

To secure a date you pay a deposit online. A booking is confirmed once the supplier accepts. The remaining balance is arranged directly with the supplier unless stated otherwise.

Cancellations & refunds

Cancellation terms depend on how far the event is away and the supplier’s policy. Eligible deposit refunds are returned to your original payment method. See your booking for the applicable window.

For suppliers

Listings must be accurate and lawful. You agree to honour confirmed bookings, respond within the response window, and provide services to a professional standard. A commission applies to bookings made through the platform.

Reviews

Reviews may only be left by customers who completed a booking. Reviews must be honest and respectful; we may remove content that breaches these terms.

Liability

We work hard to vet suppliers, but we are not liable for the acts or omissions of independent suppliers. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll post the latest version here, and significant changes will be highlighted.
